About the studio
I photograph the quiet in-between
I'm John Dunning, a photographer based in Brooklyn. My work lives in the calm moments most people walk past — fog settling over a coastline, the geometry of a stairwell, the stillness in a stranger's face.
For over a decade I've worked with editorial clients and private collectors, balancing patient film work with responsive digital shooting. Every frame is composed for restraint: honest light, considered lines, and room to breathe.
